It features the voyeuristic photo story by artist Sook Kim - the ultimate peek behind closed doors… It’s set in a hotel and showcases what 66 guests are doing and allows you to be a fly on the wall. The behaviour goes from the norm to the darkest sides of human nature.
I love the idea, the way we’re wired means we love a good nosey, and Sook Kim allows us to indulge in a little bit of snooping without being complete creeps - surely this is a good thing!

Cute Circuit Hug Shirt..
This year I’ve been landed doing a course called ‘Contemporary Issues in Textiles’ , the name didn’t exactly fill me with hope when i saw it on my timetable! However, I’m slowly but surely getting into it. We were asked to look into the world of smart textiles; this began with me nearly crying in the campus library because I didn’t understand the big words used in textile journals & magazines, not cool. However, after a bit of grade ‘A’ googling skills, I found some things that interested me. I.e. things which were kitsch & a little bit tacky!
Of all the things I saw, this one gave me a warm fuzzy feeling when I read about it,

yum, have created a new technology called ‘Hug Shirts’
The idea works using bluetooth & sensory textiles. When you touch the red areas of your shirt, it measures hug pressure, skin temperature, heartbeat and time you are hugging for. Your phone receives this data via bluetooth, and sends it onto the other person wearing a hug shirt - they then feel all this through their shirt. Therefore you can send a ‘hug’ to loved ones all over the world providing they are also wearing their hug shirt. How cute it that!
Imagine being able to send a cuddle to the people you love far away when their feeling down :). The technology isn’t released onto the market yet, but when it is in the near future, it’s going to cost a BUNDLE. However, who could put a price on a hug? x
I know what your thinking, Emma - Did you take a special child out for a trip to sea life centre? That’s really nice of you!….. No, well, kind of, but if i’m honest - we’re both a bit special. That strange boy with the cross eyes is my lovely boyfriend, and by tomorrow he will have been so for the past 2 years! happy anniversary babe.
